DIANE BOTWIN, MANAGING PARTNER
Diane has now been in real estate development and management for thirty-five years. She started Botwin & Company in 1986 with her parents as a property management company. Today, Botwin Commercial Development and Botwin Property Management includes commercial real estate in the Crossroads Arts District, the Waldo neighborhood, the Columbus Park neighborhood as well as property in Bonner Springs, KS. Her focus is to provide neighborhood sensitive commercial development that is thoughtful in its design and place within a neighborhood. All her commercial tenants are small businesses. She loves small entrepreneurs because they are so resilient, creative, and interesting. Diane also is an avid supporter of local ar. She has engaged with artists like Jim Woodfill, Marcie Miller Gross, Anne Lindberg and Sonié Joy Ruffin to ask the good questions and help her incorporate their visions and work into her buildings.
Joining forces with Andrew Ganahl and Katie Collum has been invigorating for her. She is expanding her experiences into residential development. As she says, “Even old dogs can learn a few new tricks.”
Diane holds a BFA in Music from Newcomb College at Tulane University and a law degree from the University of Missouri Kansas City School of Law. She hates bullying and loves collaboration. She thinks you should do your homework and show up prepared, be accountable, open minded and kind.
ANDREW C. GANAHL, MANAGING PARTNER
Andrew is one of the founding principals of AND Real Estate. He has twenty years’ experience in urban real estate development, financial services, and public policy and administration. Andrew focuses his development and management efforts on high-quality, urban multi-family and mixed-use buildings in dense, walkable urban environments. With Linden Street Partners, Andrew co-led the development of the 1914 Main (44 units) and Terrace on Walnut Apartments (38 units) in Kansas City’s Crossroads neighborhood. He also developed two infill apartment projects in Milwaukee’s vibrant Walker’s Point neighborhood, with the 70-unit Quin Apartments opening in 2018 and the 86-unit Yards Apartments opening in spring 2020. His newest project with AND Real Estate is the development of a new 44-unit apartment project in the Waldo neighborhood of Kansas City opening summer 2021.
Prior to founding Linden Street Partners in 2013, Andrew was a senior executive with the U.S. Department of the Treasury, where he helped start and execute both the Troubled Asset Relief Program (TARP) and the Small Business Lending Fund, each with a focus on stabilizing and improving the condition of the nation’s financial industry and its ability to extend credit to small businesses and entrepreneurs across the country. He also served as Deputy Assistant Commissioner for Treasury Security Services, with oversight responsibility for the issuance of over $7 trillion in marketable securities to finance the public debt. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Public Policy from Stanford University and an MPA from Harvard University.
KATIE COLLUM, PROPERTY MANAGER
Katie has over 13 years of property management and development including—construction, rehab, leasing, and marketing. She is committed to developing positive relationships with all of her tenants—both commercial and residential. She enjoys helping clients achieve their goals through collaboration, open communication, and creative problem solving.
Katie currently oversees AND Real Estate’s multifamily and commercial portfolios including—day-to-day management, tenant relations, and the plethora of other operations that go into successfully managing property.
In her free time, Katie enjoys spending time with her family, hiking, and gardening.
